What are the aims of the Retreat?

Who can attend?

<aside> 👤 The principal target audience is people who feel part of a local EA group (or would like to do so in the future) and are interested in helping their local EA group succeed. You can also apply if you are interested in community building in general and aren’t associated with a specific EA group. We don’t necessarily require you to be based in Germany.

We think you will get the most out of this event if you attend it together as the organising team of your local group.

If we reach capacity for the retreat, we will have to choose who we accept based on whom we think would get the most out of the weekend. So we encourage you to apply even if you are in doubt!

Where and when will it be held?

<aside> 🏡 The retreat will be held at Jugendbildungsstätte Kurt Löwenstein from Monday 19th till Thursday 22nd of September.

Address: Jugendbildungsstätte Kurt Löwenstein, Freienwalder Allee 8-10, 16356 Werneuchen/Werftpfuhl, Germany.

⏱ The retreat starts on Tuesday with the opening session, 20 September at 10:30 am and ends on Thursday with the closing session, 22 September at 10:30 am (lunch will be served). For more information, check out the schedule.

If you want you can also come to the venue on Monday from 3:00 pm and relax there until the retreat starts. Please mention this in your application, because we need to tell the cook for how many people we need food on Monday and Tuesday morning.

Agenda

<aside> 🗓️ Check out the preliminary agenda (this will be finalized over the next weeks). You are free to chose what sessions you want to attend and what not.

We will encourage everyone to schedule a few (~3) 1-on-1s, because at previous retreats attendees mentioned that 1-on-1s were most valuable to them.

Since this event is right after EAGx Berlin we will take care to plan enough free time and non-EA activities.

Let us know in your application if you’d like to contribute to the success of the retreat by organizing a session/discussion/meditation/or what ever you think others will enjoy.
